Following the success of our last CPF session, we hosted Wokingham Conservatives for our second CPF of the academic year. The session was led by Cllr Andrew Waters and Cllr Martin Deakin, with some interesting debate on ‘Skills and Training for a 21st Century Workforce’. The wide-ranging policy suggestions will be forwarded onto central office, providing an opportunity for students to have a real impact on the policy of the Conservative Party.
The event was in high demand, with over 30 people turning up on the night. Pizza, beer and other refreshments provided by Wokingham Conservative Association, thanks to Jasmine Waters for organising the event. Because of the high demand, we were able to split into smaller groups and have more meaningful debates as to how the Government can tackle the issues raised.
The Association’s new target to increase participation and outreach across Berkshire, meant that we were able to host a number of other young Conservatives from across the county. It concluded with a visit to Park House, giving attendees a chance to integrate with our members. It was enjoyable event for all and we hope to see many young Conservatives from across the county return to our events in the future.
